Radhika says that "(x-2)(X+1)=(x-1)(X+3)"is a quadratic equation.justify your answer.​

(x-2)(X+1)=(x-1)(X+3)

step 1

 {x}^{2}  + 1x - 2x - 2 =  {x}^{2}  + 3x - x - 3

step 2

 {x}^{2}  - 2x - 2 =  {x}^{2}  + 2x - 3

step 3

 {x}^{2}  -  {x}^{2}  - 2x - 2x =  - 3 + 2

step 4

 - 4x =  - 1 \\  x =  \frac{1}{4}

In step 3 all the  {x}^{2} terms get cancelled and the highest power in the equation is 1

so it is not a quadratic equation
