Let the speed of the dog be x

Speed of the train = 25m/s

Train length = 250 m

Time Taken = 24 seconds

Relative velocity = Speed of the train - Speed of the dog

= 25m/s - x

Speed = distance/time

25m/s - x = 250m/24s

25 - x = 250/24

600 - 24x = 250

-24x = 250 - 600

-24x = - 350

x = (-350)/(-24)

x = 175/12 m/s or 14.5833 m/s
