रफेज पौधा-व्युत्पन्न (plant-derived) भोजन का एक हिस्सा है जिसे पाचन एंजाइमों द्वारा पूरी तरह से तोड़ा नहीं जा सकता है।
इसके दो मुख्य घटक हैं -
1. घुलनशील रेशा (Soluble fiber)
2. अघुलनशील रेशा (Insoluble fiber)

Raphae is basically defined as a shallow ridge present on the testa of flat surface of the seed. The distinct seperation of raphae represents in the chalazal end. It consists and presente in between the two circular yellowish cotyledons that are attached to the embryo axis of the seed of the plant. During germination of the plant seed, the radicle comes out first through the micropyle and helps to grows to form a tap root and the plumule gives rise to shoot system.
