Rag-pickers help in waste management of a city. All waste that we produce can be categorised as biodegradable, non biodegradable and recyclable. When this garbage is produced, it needs to be sorted out. Rag-pickers do a great job of separation of materials for recycling and the biodegradable materials are put in deep pits into the ground and are left for natural breakdown. So, rag-pickers separate out the recyclable materials from the waste. Hence, help in waste management.
