Green leafy vegetables are a good source of Vitamins K,A,C,B-6 ; minerals like iron,calcium,magnesium ; phytonutients like beta-carotene,leutins and small amounts of omega 3 fatty acids.

Vitamin K (anti-hemorrhage vitamin) is the key nutrient in them as:

1.It regulates blood clotting . 2.It helps in protecting bones from osteoporosis.

Iron being main mineral element has vital functions in our body:

1.Helps in oxygen transport from lungs to other tissues as it is a key component of hemoglobin.

2.Acts as a transport medium for electrons within cells in the form of cytochromes.
