Given as :

The distance cover by car = d_1 = 60 km 700 m

The distance cover by motorcycle = d_2 = 10 km 900 m

To Find :

Total distance cover by Rahul

Solution :

Let The total distance cover = D km

So,

Total distance cover =  distance cover by car + distance cover by motorcycle

Or,                           D =  d_1 + d_2

Or,                           D = 60 km 700 m + 10 km 900 km

(∵ 1 km = 1000 m)

Or,                           D = (60 km + \dfrac{700}{1000} km ) + (10 km + \dfrac{900}{1000} km)

Or,                           D = (60 + 0.7 ) km + (10 + 0.9 ) km

∴                              D = 60.7 + 10.9

i.e                            D = 71.6 km

So, Distance = D = 71 km 600 m

Hence, The distance cover by Rahul is 71 km 600 m   . Answer
