Technically Rahul Gandhi's religion is Christian and caste Catholic (RC).
Because his father born to a Parsi father and Hindu mother. To become Parsi both of the parents should be Parsis. To become Brahmin both of the parent should be Brahmins. So Rajiv Gandhi is neither Parsi nor Brahmin. Thus he become a casteless Hindu. Without caste it is very difficult to live in India.
So he married to Roman Catholic lady and thus the children become Christians and their caste become Roman Catholic. Whether they are following or not, that's not a matter.
But Rahul is still in the same position of his great grand father who didn't allow the Catholic PT Chacko in 1960 after the massive win against Communists to become the Chief minister of Kerala only because of christian identity and given the position to it's alliance partner and which ended in the first split in Congress. It is not his religious identity what he is going to deliver is more important.
