Given :

  • Rahul's father is 6 times Rahul's age.

  • 4 years ago, father's age was 16 times Rahul's age.

To find :

  • Find the present age =?

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, the present age of Rahul be, x.

And, the present age of Rahul's father be, 6x.

Rahul's age 4 years ago = x - 4

4 years ago Rahul's father's age = 6x - 4

According to the question :

➮ 16 (x - 4) = 6x - 4

➮ 16x - 64 = 6x - 4

➮ 16x - 6 = - 4 + 64

➮ 10x = 60

➮ x = 60/10

➮ x = 6.

Thus, We get the value x = 6.

Hence,

Rahul's present age is, x = 6 years

The present age of Rahul's father, 6x = 6 × 6 = 36 years

Given :-

  • Rahul's father is 6 time rahul's age

  • 4 years ago, father age was 16 times rahul's age.

To find :-

Find the present age.

Answer :-

  • Let Rahuls age be = x years.

  • His father age be = y years.

Rahul's father's age is 6 times of his age then the equation will be :-

➨ y = 6x ........(1)

Four years ago father's age was 16 times of rahul's age then the equation will be

➨ (4 - y) = 16 (x - 4)

➨ (y - 4) = 16 - 64........(2)

Substituting equation (1) in equation (2)

➨ 6x - 4 = 16x - 64

➨ 16x - 6x = -4 + 64

➨ 10x = 60

➨ x = 60/10

➨ x = 6

Putiing x = 6 in equation (1) we get,

➨ y = 6x

➨ y = 6 × 6

➨ y = 36

Hence,

Rahul's present age is 6 years.

The present age of Rahul's father is 36 years.
