❖ all depends for example if you had a pipe 500 cm long and required 5 pieces 100 cm long you would have no surplus pipe remaining, however if you had a pipe 500 cm long and wanted 5 pieces 75 cm long, then this would require I extra cut and you would have 125 cm surplus pipe left over. ( 5 x 75 cm = 375 cm from 500 cm pipe

To cut a pipe into 5 pieces *without any remaining pipe unused requires 4 cuts = 12 mins answer = 24 minutes for 4 cuts
