Let Raj's age be x
Mother's age = 2x + 12
Mothers age after 8 yrs = 3(x+8) -20
=> 2x + 12+8 = 3(x+8) - 20
= 2x+20 = 3x+24-20
2x+20 = 3x+4
20-4 = 3x-2x
16 = x
Raj's age is 16
Mother's age = 2x+12=2(16)+12= 32+12=44
Mother's age = 2x + 12
Mothers age after 8 yrs = 3(x+8) -20
=> 2x + 12+8 = 3(x+8) - 20
= 2x+20 = 3x+24-20
2x+20 = 3x+4
20-4 = 3x-2x
16 = x
Raj's age is 16
