let say the c.p is x
Raj sold his scooter to rahim at 8% loss, so {x-(8% of X) = (23x)/(25)
rahim in turn sold the same scooter to prem at 5%,
now lets say rahim brought the scooter at price y
and sold it by 5% gain so, y+(5% of y)= 21y/20
prem paid ₹14490 so the eq is
(21y/20) = 14490
y=13800ruees
and as we can see, y=(23x)/(25)=13800 rupees so
x=15000
find the x which will be the c.p and then put the value of x on (23x)/(25) to get the sell price.

Given :
- Raj sold his scooter to rahim at 8% loss and Rahim in turn sold the same scooter to prem at 5% gain. If prem paid ₹14490 for the scooter.
Find :
- (a) The S.P and C.P of the scooter for Rahim.
- (b) The S.P and C.P of the scooter for Raj.
Using formula :
★ C.P = 100/(100 + Profit℅) S.P
Calculation :
= 100/(100 + 5) 14490
= 13800
Hence, 13800 would be the cost price of Rahim.
= 100/(100 - 8) 13800
= 15000
hence, 15000 would be the cost price of Raj.
Therefore ,
- CP, SP of Rahim: 13800, 14900.
- CP, SP of Raj: 15000, 13800.
