Answer : The pH of solutions A and B can respectively be 2 & 14.

Explanation :

Concentration of hydronium ion is more in case of solution A. A solution that has more concentration of hydronium ions is acidic in nature.

This acidic nature of solution A is further confirmed by the pH paper test.On pH paper, orange colour is shown when a solution has a pH between 2-3.

On the other hand, solution B turns pink in the presence of phenolphthalein. Phenolphthalein is an acid-base indicator and it shows pink color in presence of a base. All basic solutions have pH greater than 7.

Therefore solution A should have p between 2-3 & solution B should have pH greater than 7.

The only option that fulfills these requirements is option c. which has pH of A = 2 and pH of B = 14
