Ratio of the sons = 3 : 5

To Find :-

The share of each of them.

Analysis :-

Consider the common ratio as a variable.

Multiply the variable to each angle given in the ratio.

Make an equation accordingly.

Then find the value of the variable and substitute it in the share.

Solution :-

Consider the common ratio as 'x'. Then the share of each would be 3x and 5x.

Making an equation,

3x + 5x = 5000

8x = 5000

x = 5000/8

x = 625

Substituting their values,

Share of first son = 3 × 625

= Rs. 1875

Share of second son = 5 × 625

= Rs. 3125

Therefore, the share of both the son are Rs. 1875 and Rs. 3125.
