Given : Raju said if the of sum interior angles on the same side of the transversal is less than 180°.

To Find:  Do you agree

Solution:

Properties of angles formed by transversal line  with two parallel lines :

• Corresponding angles are congruent.

• Alternate angles are congruent.  ( Interiors & Exterior  both )

• Co-Interior angles are supplementary. ( adds up to 180°)

sum interior angles on the same side of the transversal is 180° if lines are parallel

But if lines are not parallel then  sum interior angles on the same side of the transversal cam be less than 180°

as  if the lines intersected by transversal intersect each other then three lines will form a triangle

and sum of angles of a triangle is 180°

so Sum of   interior angles on the same side of the transversal is 180° - 3rd angle of triangle

Hence Sum of   interior angles on the same side of the transversal is less than 180°

If Lines are parallel then do not agree with Raju

as Sum of   interior angles is 180°

If Lines are not parallel then one side Sum of   interior angles is less than 180°  and  other side is greater than 180°
