let age of Rakesh be 'p' years.
then age of father = 2p years

10 years ago -
(2p-10) - (p-10) = 20
p = 20
so, present age of Rakesh = 20 years.
present age of father = 40 years.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let father's age be x yrs and Rakesh's age be x/2 yrs

Ten years before Rakesh's age = (x/2 - 10)

and father's age = ( x - 10 )

now according to the problem

x/2 - 10 = (x-10)-20

x/2 -10 -x +10+20 = 0

x/2 - x +20 = 0

x-2x+40=0

-x = -40

x = 40

∴The father is 40 yrs old and Rakesh is 20 yrs old
