Answer:

Let there be X pages in the book.

Monday: She read ( 3/7 ) of the book or ( 3/7 )X pages. That is she has yet to read (1 - 3/7)X or

= ( 4/7 )X pages.

Tuesday: She read (1/ 4) of remainder or

( 1/4 )*( X - (3/7)X ) or ( 1/4 ) * ( 4/7 ) * ( X ) or

= ( X/7 ) (= amount read)

This means that because she has now read one quarter of the remainder, 9she has yet to read (3/4)*(4/7)X or (3/7)X pages.

Wednesday onwards: 75 more pages to read.

Therefore (3/7)X = 75 pages

Therefore X = ( 75 )*( 7 )/( 3 )

Therefore X = 25 * 7 = 175 pages
