Let the present age of Rakhi be x years

Rakhi's mother is four times Rakhi's age

So, Rakhi's mother's age = 4x

5 years later,

Age of Rakhi = x + 5

Age of Rakhi's mother = 4x + 5

After 5 years, Rakhi's mother will be three times as old as she will be then = 3(x + 5)

According to the question,

4x + 5 = 3(x + 5)

➾ 4x + 5 = 3x + 15

➾ 4x - 3x = 15 - 5

➾ x = 10

∴ Present age of Rakhi ➾ x years

∴ Present age of Rakhi's mother ➾ 4x years

\huge\boxed{\fcolorbox{red}{pink}{Your's Answer}}

Let present age of Rakhi = x years

Present age of Mother = 4x

5 years later:

Age of Rakhi =x+5

Age of Mother =4x+5

Given :-

4x+5=3(x+5)

4x−3x=15−5

=>x=10

Rakhi's age= 10 years

Mother's age =4x=40 years
