let the investment of Ram was=X Rs

now....

Shyam started business with 1175 rs 11 months ago .

and Ram entered with an amount X 5 months ago. so

so still they have to run their investment for more 1 month to complete the year.

now to get the profit in 1 month they should be invested.

in the ratio =(5+1)x:(11+1)1175

=6x:14100

now according to the problem the profit ratio

=7:16

and we know that the profit ratio is equal to the investment ratio.

therefore.

$\frac{6x}{12 \times 1175} = \frac{7}{16} \\ = > x = \frac{7}{16} \times \frac{12 \times 1175}{6} \\ = > x = 1128.125 \: rs$

therefore the investment of Ram was

=1128.125 Rs
