Let the number of flowers offered be x
Ratio of remaining flowers to flowers in beginning = 2:5
= 2/5
⇒ 2/5 = x/30
2(30) = 5x (after cross multiply)
60 = 5x
60/5 = x
12 = x
Flowers offered = x
Flowers remaining = 30-12
= 18
