Given :  Ram has four full rolls of ribbon and one roll of ribbon is 18 3/4 m long.

To Find :  How many metres of ribbon does he has in total

b)  he decorates five rectangular display boards each  of dimension 3m and 2m by pasting the ribbon along their borders, then find the length of the remaining  ribbon?

c) Four full ribbon rolls are used for decorating the circular wall pieces each of radius 35 cm, then how many such circular wall pieces can be  decorated?

Solution:

one roll of ribbon is 18 3/4 m   long

= 75/4  m long

=> 4 rolls  = 4 * 75/4  = 75 m

five rectangular display boards each  of dimension 3m and 2m

Ribbon used = 5 *  ( 2 * ( 3 + 2))  =   50 m

Ribbon left = 75 - 50  = 25 m

circular wall pieces each of radius 35 cm

circumference = 2π ( radius) =   2 * (22/7) * 35  = 220 cm  = 2.2  m

such circular wall pieces can be  decorated  =  75/2.2

= 34.1

= 34
