Ram is 19 years younger than his cousin. After 5 years, their ages will be in the ratio 2 : 3.
Find their present ages.

let the age of rams =X

the age of ram cousin = X+19

after 5 years age of ram= X+5

after 5 years age of rams cousin= X+24

the ratio of their ages after 5 years= 2/3

therefore (X+5)/(X+24)= 2/3

3(X+5)=2(X+24)

3x+15=2x+48

x=48-15=33

therefore the present age of ram (X)= 33 years

present age of rams cousin(X+19)=33+19= 52 years
