log2x can be written as logx+log2

Range of the function  is R for all real numbers

Domain= [{xER : x > 0}]

For all positive real numbers.

Given

  • f(x)= log2x

To find

  • The range of the function

Solution

The given function can be written as

f(x) = log2x

or, f(x) = log2 + logx (log2 is a constant value)

or, f(x) = logx + constant

Therefore, we have to find the range of logx,

The range of logx is

( \infty,\infty )

that is, log function has positive values for all positive values of x greater than 1 and negative value for x less than 1.

Adding any constant to infinity results in infinity only thus the range remains constant even after adding log2.
