Let Rani's salary be Rs. 1000a. (a not equal to 0) in 1 month.
Son gets = Rs. 1000a × 25/1000 = Rs 25a.
Son saves = Rs (1- 8/10) × 25a = Rs 5a.
By the problem,
5a=277.50/3
1000a = 18,500.
Rani earns Rs. 18,500 in one month.  (Ans.)

nidhiramy: how did you get 1000a?
Silverbolt: You just assume the salary to be Rs. 1000a. You can also take it as Rs. x. Rs 1000a has been assumed for convenience of calculation.
