thickness 1.5 cm

20+2×1.5=23

50+2×1.5=53

10+2×1.5=13

volume of cuboid=L×B×H

20×50×10=10000

volume of cuboid=L× B ×H

23×53×13=15847

15847- 10000

=5847

The area that has been painted if the thickness of the wood is 1.5 cm is 4414 sq.cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of box = 20 cm

Width of box = 50 cm

Height of box = 10 cm

Thickness of the wood is 1.5 cm

Outer length = 20+1.5+1.5=23 cm

Outer breadth = 50+1.5+1.5=53 cm

Outer height = 10+1.5+1.5=13 cm

Total outer surface area =2(lb+bh+hl)=2(23 \times 53 + 53 \times 13 + 13 \times 23)=4414 cm^2

Hence  the area that has been painted if the thickness of the wood is 1.5 cm is 4414 sq.cm.
