Let Meena’s weight be x  and Tara’s weight be y .

Then Rani’s weight =  25/100 × x     (1)

and also Rani’s weight =   40/100 × y  (2)

From (1) and (2)

25/100 × x =40/100   × y

  • 25x = 40 y (Multiplying both sides by 100)
  • 5x = 8y (Dividing both sides by 5)
  • x =  8/5 y       (3)

We have to find Meena’s weight as the percentage of Tara’s weight, which is...

x/y  × 100 = (8/5y)/y  × 100 (Using (3))

=  8/5 × 100 = 160

Hence, Meena’s weight is 160% of Tara’s weight  .
