Let the no. Of students = x
Oranges distributed to each student = 540/x
No. Of students increased = 30
According to the given question,
New equation = 540/x+30
Again according to the given question,
540/x-540/x+3 = 3
540(1/x-1/x+30) = 3
540(x+30-x)/x2+30x = 3
180×30/x2+30x = 1
5400 = x2+30x
x2+30x-5400 = 0
x2+90x-30x-5400 = 0
(x-30)(x+90) = 0
x = 30, x= -90(rejected)
No. Of students = 30×6= 180.
