With the increasing number of settlements , there is rapid deforestation. Urbanisation and industrialization cause pollution in Milion different ways.

→Sewage from households goes into the rivers if there is not proper drainage system.

→Industries disposing off untreated sewage into the rivers and other water bodies

→Increased use of plastic and other non bio degradable materials which are inturn left into the water bodies.

→With the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers , the land is losing its natural characteristics. Besides , the over usage of these causes the chemicals to flow into the water bodies when there is rain . This causes the growth of weeds in the water and affects the aquatic life also.

→Oil spills are also one of the reasons.
