Ratio of present ages of madhu and madhuri is 5:9. Ratio of their ages after 3 Years will be 2:3. What is the present age of madhu?

given the present ages of Madhu and Madhuri is 5 : 9

ATQ, after 3 years their age will be in the ratio 2 : 3

let their present ages be 5x and 9x respectively.

therefore 5x + 3/ 9x + 3 = 2/3

==> 3 ( 5x + 3 ) = 2 ( 9x + 3 )

==> 15x + 9 = 18x + 6

==> 9 - 6 = 18x - 15x

==> 3 = 3x

==> x = 3/3

==> x = 1

hence, present age of Madhu = 5x = 5 × 1 = 5yrs

present age of Madhuri = 9x = 9 × 1 = 9yrs
