I strongly believe that lightning played a major role in the evolution of life on the earth. it is because during lightning the atmospheric nitrogen gets converted into NO and then finally converts into NO2 which mixes with the rain water, and mixes in the soil which the plants pick up the nitrogen and produce their food. we get our food from the plans therefore we get the nitrogen indirectly from the plants. one more factor is that there are biofertilizers which absorb the atmospheric nitrogen and fix it into the soil which favours the growing of a tree or plant. therefore we all are linked together via this. and this is responsible for the evolution of life on earth.
