 \frac{2}{ \sqrt{2} }  \\  =  \frac{2}{ \sqrt{2}  } \times  \frac{ \sqrt{2} }{ \sqrt{2} }  =   \frac{2 \sqrt{2} }{2}  =  \sqrt{2}

hence rationalizing the given number we get root 2
