Answer:

to rationalize multiply the the whole fraction by 8/root 7-1

= (8/ root 7+1)* (root 7-1/root 7-1) = 8(root 7-1)/(root 7+1)(root 7-1)

So using (a+b)(a-b)= a^2-b^2

we get: 8(root 7-1)/7+1 (since the square of root 7 is 7)

= 8(root 7-1)/8

cancelling 8 which is common in both the numerator and the denominator, the solution will be

root 7-1/1 hence the denominator is rationalized

Answer:

4(root 7 -1)/3

explanation

8 / √7+1 = √7-1/√7-1

                      =8(√7-1)/6    (a sq. - b sq.)

hence cancel the equation 8 and 6 by 2

you will get the answer
