ravish had 60 flowers. he offered some flowers in temple and found that the ratio of the number of remaining flowers to that of flowers in the beginning is 3:5. find the number of flowers offered by him in the temple.

Number of flowers Ravish had = 60
Ratio of remaining to total = 3:5
Let the remaining be 3x and total be 5x.
According to the question,
5x=60
x=12
Remaining=3x=36
Flowers offered in the temple = 60-36
= 24

Let the no of offered flowers be x
Then the ratio will be 3x:5x
3x/5x=1/60
Cross multiply
60*3x=5x
180x=5x
180/5=x
36=x
