let the breadth be x
length will be x+5

perimeter=2(l+b)
750=2(x+5+x)
750=2x+10+2x
750-10=4x
740/4=x
185=x

breadth is 185m
length is 190m

Given - Perimeter and relation between length and breadth

Find - Length and breadth of the plot

Solution - The length and breadth of the plot are 190 and 185 metres respectively.

Fencing with a wire will be on the borders of the rectangular plot. Thus, it represents the perimeter of the plot.

The perimeter of a rectangle is given by the formula = 2(length + Breadth).

Let the breadth of the plot be x.

So, length of plot = x + 5

Keep the values in the formula to find the value of the perimeter of the rectangle.

750 = 2(x + 5 + x)

750/2 = 2x + 5

375 - 5 = 2x

2x = 370

x = 370/2

x = 185 metres.

Now, the breadth of the plot is 185 metres.

Length of plot = 185 + 5

Length of plot = 190 metres.

Thus, the length and breadth of the plot are 190 and 185 metres respectively.
