Answer:

Razia Sultan ruled from 1236 to 1240 after which she was dethroned as the nobility could not accept being ruled by a woman. She was an able administrator and was the first woman ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. Her rule was characterised by efficient law and order and she was said to have been very devoted to her subjects.

In today's scenario, women leaders are more readily accepted than the ancient and medieval times. Our Constitution calls for gender equality in society. Sarojini Naidu, Indira Gandhi, Prathiba Patil etc. are some of the examples of women leaders of the modern times.

During the last days of Iltutmish, he nominated Razia as the next ruler of Delhi, as he thought ,she was more capable than any of his sons. She was a brave and a fearless woman. She was assassinated by his half brother Bahram Shah in the year 1240.She ruled only for 4 years, 1236–1240,yet history always remembers her.
