it's not possible, to ise because in the sentence you would have to change the meaning of the sentence

saying 'Because he was ill he went to the conference.' or 'He went to the conference because he was ill.' doesn't really make sense, but either way it change s the meaning of the original sentence

you could also write 'He was ill because he went to the conference', but it also changes

the meaning of the original sentence
