When methyl bromide is treated with aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide, the reaction taking place will be substitution reaction in which halo atom attached to alkyl group is replaced by hydroxyl group to form methanol. This mechanism is SN2 which stands for substitution nucleophilic biomecular reaction.
