Reaction of 1-methylcyclohexene with HI form 1-methyl-1-iodocyclohexane because
First of all it is an electrophilic substitution reaction(H+ behave as an electrophile)
It attacks the double bond and forms carbonation
And formation of this take place according to markonikove's rule.
(This rule states that H+(protonic part) gets attached to that carbon which has more no. of H atoms).
And then iodide ion gets attached to major carbonation and forms 1-methyl-1-iodocyclohexane not the other product.
