A) Na and K
Sodium(Na) melts to form a ball because the reaction is very exothermic. It finally disappears leaving a solution of sodium hydroxide now potassium is added to the water it reacts more vigorously. The hydrogen produced ignites immediately and we see the lilac potassium.
B) Mg and Cu
Copper(Cu) is displaced and the magnesium(Mg) loses electrons to copper ions. This is the case because Magnesium is more reactive than the metal Copper in CuSO4.
C) Fe and Al
The reaction between iron(III) oxide and aluminum is known as a thermite reaction and is highly exothermic. The reaction between iron(III) oxide and aluminum produces aluminum oxide and iron.
