The reaction between zinc and hydrochloric acid isZn + HCl = H2 + ZnCl2. It is a single replacementreaction where zinc metal displaces the hydrogen to form hydrogen gas and zinc chloride, a salt. Zincreacts quickly with the acid to form bubbles of hydrogen. since hydrogen is released it is a exothermic reaction

this is because the above reaction is a a simple displacement reaction in which zinc displace hydrogen and form zinc chloride and hydrogen gas is evolved in this reaction
due to evolution of hydrogen gas this reaction is exothermic reaction
