• No, the narrator was not as rich as Tricki's mistress. Tricki's mistress is an extremely rich lady who spends money extravagantly on her dog. She owned a beautiful long black car. She has several maids, servants, gardeners and other staff in her house whereas, the narrator is an ordinary veterinary doctor of small means.

• Dr Herriot behaves toward the dog very intelligently. He instantly guesses the cause of his sickness and advises Mrs Pumphrey about it like an expert. He advises her to reduce sweet things in Tricki's diet. He also says her to provide plenty of exercise to the dog. When Mrs Pumphrey fails to follow his advice, he refers that Tricks must be hospitalised. He takes Tricki to his clinic and heals it through regular meal exercises, etc.

• In her over-suspicion for her dog. Mrs Pumphrey begins sending a large supply of eggs, wine and brandy to Dr Herriot's clinic.
