One of the most cherished novels from Sidney Sheldon, Master Of The Game is an absolute classic showcasing generations of a family and the pivot that holds the legacy together.
Kate Blackwell, the main character, is stubborn, powerful and manipulative. A destroyer of dreams for her own good. Yet, you cannot hate her for long. I had the love and hate kind of relationship with her throughout the read.
Other characters, and trust me there are many, held individual importance, creating a perfect web to this story. How Kate dealt and played with different minds is a delight to read. It creates intrigue. It makes you want to know what will Kate do now?
The story of Jamie (Kate’s father) though seemed a bit unnecessary to me. It had a major role to play in Kate’s personality, I agree, but still the author could have cut down on details to make the novel a bit short.
This novel will be liked by readers who enjoy classics and thrillers that keep you turning the pages until its over. I give this one 4 out of 5 stars.
A review of one of my favorite novels is given below:
- Plot: One Indian Woman has been written by Chetan Bhagat. The author begins the book with Radhika who was busy with the arrangements of her marriage to Brijesh, a software engineer on Facebook in San Francisco. Later, she explains her life as a student as a nerdy and shy student. Then she tells about her life at her job in the USA.
- Theme: The author discusses sexism in the workplace, female friendship, female relationships, romantic relationships, and his idea of feminism.
- Characters: The important characters were Radhika, her two boyfriends Neel and Debashish Sen, her fiance Brijesh and other family members.
- Important elements: Important elements have already been discussed.
