Hey!

___________________

(i) The Nightingale is the speaker of the first two lines and she said it to the Frog.

(ii) Mozart was a profilic and influential composer of classical era. The Nightingale regarded the Frog as Mozart in disguise, as she was in an illusion that the Frog is a great and experienced singer.

(iii) Frog was very clever. He didn't even know the basics of the art of singing and he pretended to be a great singer. He trapped the Nightingale in his words and Nightingale being very innocent , thought that she should be trained by the Frog. Frog took advantage of the Nightingale's innocent behaviour, and agreed to train her if she will pay some fees.

Opening lines : The above lines have been taken from the satire "The Frog and the Nightingale" by Vikram Seth.

(a) The speaker in the above lines is the Nightingale who gets impressed by the false appreciation of the Frog.

(b) According to NCERT, Mozart was a very famous and influential music composer of the classical era. The nightingale was so flattered by the frog's false appreciation that she regarded the cunning frog as Mozart in disguise.

(c) Frog was indeed a very clever creature and told the innocent nightingale that he would only charge some "modest fees". Frog later in the poem not only extracted a lot of money out of the poor nightingale but also forced her to die. Poor nightingale lacked worldy wisdom
