Read the following passage carefully and then answer the questions based on it : more Did you ever hear the story of Newton and his little dog, Diamond ? One day, when he was fifty years old, and had been hard at work than twenty years studying a very difficult subject, he went out of his room, leaving his little dog asleep before the fire. On the table, laya heap of written papers, containing all the facts which Newton had found out during his twenty years of study. When his master was gone, up rose little Diamond, jumped upon the table and overthrew a lighted candle. The papers at once caught fire. Just as they were all burnt, Newton opened the door and saw that the labour of twenty years were reduced to a heap of ashes. There stood little Diamond who had done all the mischief. Almost any other man would have punished the dog. But Newton patted him on his head as kindly as usual, although grief was at his heart.
