In the above passage, it is seen that Mayank tries to befriend a puppy all day. He calls the puppy by different names like 'Tommy', 'Tiger' and others. But the puppy does not come near him as it is really scared. Mayank even offers a slice of bread and glucose biscuits to make the puppy come out from under the car. At last, he was unsuccessful in befriending the puppy. Then he exclaims "What a life!" implying that the puppy will have the life of any other stray dog. It will not have enough food to eat or a comfortable place to live in. People will always shoo them away. It is a life no dog would want to live.
