Good manners are based upon the concept of consideration for others. They sweeten the stream of our life.
They give endless joy to both, the receiver as well as the giver. If we want others to help us, we must say
'please do me a favour'. When a person has done something for us, we should never forget to show our
gratitude to him by saying 'Thank you'. These good manners add grace and charm to our routine life.
These manners are not inherited; nor do they flow naturally to intelligent people. They must be learnt and
practiced. They are easy to acquire and normally become effective tools of behaviour.
Manners, courtesy and etiquettes are tools that one should always carry with oneself wherever one goes.
There is no particular place or time when a person should display or begin his elementary courtesy. The first
step to success lies in treating people courteously just as we wish to be treated.
Good manners are necessary components in every walk of life, and especially in business. Organizations
where the representatives are competent and well mannered enjoy a good reputation and prestige. The
morale, inter-personal communication and work culture of such an organization will be high. And this, in
turn, will attract more business.
