Some of the world's fastest athletes competed at the Summer Olympic Games in London in August
2012. One of these athletes, David Rudisha of Kenya, ran 800 metres in 1 minute 41 seconds to win
the gold medal. This was a new world record. In the same Olympic Games teenager Kirani James of
