Read this excerpt from We’ve Got a Job: The 1963 Children’s March.Although life was better in the projects than in the tenement house, Wash began to glimpse more of the other world and realize what he was missing. "You'd walk by the Alabama Theatre, and the door would open, and you'd feel that cool air." He also noticed white people eating at the counter at J. J. Newberry's Department Store. "More than anything," he said, "I wanted a banana split behind that counter . . . But you couldn't go back there." Instead Wash and other blacks had to eat in the basement standing up.How does this excerpt best help readers make a connection to world events?by offering an example of racial segregationby offering criticisms of badly kept housingby offering details about movies Wash enjoysby offering a glimpse of modern inventions

In the year 1963, 4000 children staged a march to the Jail in the state of Alabama against racial segregation.

They filled the jail and decided to follow the ideas of martin Luther King Jr and Mahatma Gandhi.

In those times Alabama was one of the most violent states in terms of racial crimes.

The event worked as a healing touch and went a long way in dissolving the racial boundaries.

The event that occurred before and after the children’s March were astonishing.
