The History of the Mughal rulers is one of the most important epochs of the history of India

They were inhabitants of Central Asia.

They did not come to India to trade but to conquire and rule which they did for nearly two hundred years.

They established a s strong and powerful Empire, which ruled over India from CE 1526 till the death of Aurangzeb in CE 1707.

The empire weekend and declined after Aurangzeb's death, though Mughals continued to rule in and around Delhi.

It was finally ended by the British after the great uprising of 1857.

REASON FOR INVASION OF MUGHALS:

• Mughal Empire was one of the greatest empires in the world which ruled for more than 300 years.

Babur was the founder of Mughal Empire in India.

• Babur belongs to Central Asia and he was grand son of Timur [Tamer Lane ] who is linked to Chengiz Khan.

• Babur invaded India and defeated Ibrahim Lodi in first battle of Panipat, 1523 and established Mughal Empire.

• The main reason for Babur invasion was to establish his rule.

• Babur was settled in Kabul with his own kingdom, but Daulat Khan Lodi, general of Punjab and Rana Sanga, a Rajput king invited Babur to defeat Ibrahim Lodi.

• Babur accepted their invitation and defeated Ibrahim Lodi.

• This invasion led to the downfall of Delhi Sultanate and emergence of Mughal Empire.
