Muscle Cramps

  • Muscle cells respire anaerobically during dearth of oxygen.

  • Muscle cells degrade pyruvate to lactic acid,releasing some energy in the process(around 2 ATP)

Generally,this happens during strenuous exercise.

Muscles need to provide energy for the body to carry out the task successfully. During strenuous exercise,muscle cells generally become devoid of oxygen. Thus,energy is obtained by degrading Lactate

  • This leads to formation of cramps. Known as Muscle Cramps.

Cramps obstruct the flow of blood making the limbs numb.

This can be undone by rotating your thumb in place of numbness,inturn increasing the blood circulation
