Reason of the Defect:-

Excessive Curvature of Eye lens i.e., eye lens becomes thick and its focal length decreases.

Elongation of the Eye ball.

Correction :-

The Defect can be corrected by using concave lens of suitable power...

Answer:

Myopia (near sightedness)

Myopia is a defect of eye due to which the eye is not able to see distant objects clearly.

I such an eye, the light ray from a distant object, arriving at the eye lens gets converted at a point in front of retina.

This defect may arise due to -

(i) excessive curvature of cornea or

(ii) elongation of eyeball.

This defect can be converted by using a concave (diverging) lens of appropriate focal length.
